Dear Friends of St. Francis Athletics,
We hope you’re enjoying a restful and joyful summer! Here at St. Francis High School, preparations for the 2025–26 academic year are already underway. Our Golden Knight student-athletes are training hard for the fall sports season, while many of our winter and spring athletes are staying active through strength training and off-season competition. There is tremendous energy on campus as we look ahead to another year of athletic excellence and formation.
St. Francis is proud to be known for both the strength of our athletic program and the integrity of our student-athletes. Rooted in the Capuchin Franciscan tradition, our mission calls us to form young men of humility, discipline, and service—values that are lived out daily on our fields, courts, and in our locker rooms. These values are best demonstrated through the teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect displayed by our Golden Knights during practice and competition. Consequently, athletics at St. Francis is far more than just sports; it serves an extension of our broader mission to develop faithful leaders who embody the Franciscan virtues in all they do.
Fall sports will begin competition in just a few weeks. Football, a CIF Southern Section semifinalist last season, has its home-opener on Friedman Field at Jim Bonds Stadium, Friday, August 22nd against St. Bonaventure. Cross Country returns to Mission League competition with a cluster meet on Wednesday, September 17th at CV Park. Water polo will face Pasadena High School at their pool on Tuesday, August 12th.
As we prepare for the year ahead, we invite you to support our student-athletes through the St. Francis Athletic Sponsorship Program. Your sponsorship helps sustain all 12 of our athletic programs while visibly demonstrating your commitment to our school and our mission.
Sponsors will be recognized throughout the year in key locations:
- On the digital scoreboard at Friedman Field at Jim Bonds Stadium
- On banners in the gymnasium, stadium, and campus drop-off area
If you choose, you can make checks payable to St. Francis High School, with “Athletic Sponsorship” noted in the memo line. Deadline is August 8th!
Thank you for your generosity and for walking alongside us in our mission to form young men who strive for excellence and goodness—in athletic competition and throughout life—with humility, discipline, and gratitude. be payable to St. Francis High School with a memo to athletic sponsorship.
