For fifty years, POSH (Preserving Our Scholastic Heritage) has sustained St. Francis High School. In 1973, parents of St. Francis students, along with the Friars, faculty and staff, bonded together to begin preparations for the very first POSH event. There was an excitement, a sense that something new was on the horizon. Something that would preserve our scholastic heritage for generations... Something good!

POSH 2023
Saturday, March 18, 2023

Two years later, a young English teacher fresh out of college arrived on campus. Indeed, something good came to St. Francis High School. And in those forty-eight years, forty-five of them here on the grounds of the former Flintridge Country Club turned college preparatory, something good has existed, which has preserved our scholastic heritage through earthquakes and floods, recessions, fires, social discontent, and pandemic.

When approached with small talk, this man of few, but profound, words will often reply with a quick whip: “Living the Dream,” or “Better to be seen than viewed,” or perhaps more appropriate for this letter, “Just another day at the ballgame!”

An avid and lifelong baseball fan, and on the occasion of this 50th Anniversary of POSH, we invite all members of the St. Francis family to join us on campus for an extraordinary night…but one that mirrors “Just another day at the ballgame!”  Wear your favorite jersey, prepare to munch on fun fare and enjoy a libation or two in our beautiful courtyard, listening and dancing to friends from Past Action Heroes. POSH 2023, In a League of His Own, will celebrate and share heartfelt thanks to Tom, and raise important funds for our Tom Moran Educational Endowment which will further preserve our scholastic heritage.
